Through the Inventory Guide of the Historical Archive, the University of Florence offers the first tool for consulting and enhancing its own documentary heritage. The Inventory Guide concerns in particular the documents of the central administration, starting from 1860, foundation of the Royal Institute of Higher Practical and Advanced Studies, until 1960, and the funds of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, formerly the Chancellery of the Studies of S. Maria Nuova and of the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy, formerly a section of Legal, Philological and Philosophical Studies. Part of the funds of the remaining Faculties, kept in the Historical Archive of the University, are also described.

L'Ateneo fiorentino offre con la Guida Inventario dell'Archivio storico il primo strumento per la consultazione e la valorizzazione del proprio patrimonio documentario. La Guida Inventario riguarda in particolare i documenti relativi all'amministrazione centrale, a partire dal 1860 fondazione del Regio Istituto di Studi Superiori Pratici e di Perfezionamento fino al 1960, ed i fondi della Facoltà di Medicina e Chirurgia, già Cancelleria degli Studi di S. Maria Nuova e della Facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia, già Sezione di studi legali, filologici e filosofici. Vengono descritti anche parte dei fondi delle restanti Facoltà, conservati presso l'Archivio storico dell'Ateneo.
