        <p>Literary trompe-l'oeil intends to emancipate the enigmatic and distinctive figure of Hauff from his long and unjust marginalization resulting from a now outdated current of criticism, to offer a new interpretation of his Märchen for a general rereading of this modern literary caricaturist's works.  On approaching his texts, one cannot but notice how they are imbued with continual and insistent, bewitching, caustic and alienating allusions, just like the Mona Lisa's smile. With a constant critical scepticism and a subtle illusionist skill, this demythologized 'budding Satan' looks at the present situation through the 'diabolic lenses' of irony, making his works a sort of literary Befreiungskrieg, in which he lays claim to a heterotopic space of free fantastic-humorist expression, along the undulating route leading from Sterne to Heine via Jean Paul.</p>

        <p>Il trompe-l'oeil letterario intende emancipare l'enigmatica e peculiare figura di Hauff dalla sua lunga e ingiusta marginalizzazione a causa di un filone critico ormai desueto, offrendo una nuova interpretazione dei Märchen nell'ottica di una generale rilettura dell'opera di questo moderno caricaturista letterario. Accostandosi ai suoi testi non si può non avvertire come siano pervasi di continui e insistiti ammiccamenti ammalianti, corrosivi e stranianti come il sorriso della Gioconda. Con un costante scetticismo critico e una sottile abilità illusionistica questo 'novello Satana' demitizzato guarda, infatti, la situazione presente attraverso gli 'occhiali diabolici' dell'ironia, facendo della sua produzione una sorta di Befreiungskrieg letterario, dove rivendica uno spazio eteropico di libera espressione fantastico-umoristica inserendosi, così, nel filone carsico che da Sterne arriva a Heine passando per Jean Paul.</p>
