<abstract xml:lang="en">

The volume, resulting from the collaboration between research groups of the Universities of Perugia, Insubria, Catania and Florence, analyses the relationship between epistemology and subjectivity from different perspectives and sensitivities yet using a strict historical and critical methodology. A rich and original scene emerges from that, within which it is possible to identify precise and consolidated research traditions. Thus, the first two parts of the volume contain specific surveys analysing the link suggested by the main theme, with reference to its structure as a knowing subject and to the redefinition of the characters of a form of rationalism which clearly finds its inspiration in Kant and definitely has a realistic significance. The third and the fourth part, on the other hand, are focused on the traits of epistemic subjectivity, with particular reference to its cognitive and anthropological dynamics, as well as to the forms of knowledge in the current debate and the matters regarding their connection with the person’s life and identity in contemporary society, intended as a «society of knowledge».
