      <abstract xml:lang="en">
        <p>This volume presents a study of the Mycenaean buildings and construction workers (14th - 13th century BC approx.), characterized by a completely original view and an interdisciplinary approach, and aimed at integrating textual and archaeological data. The main problem the author is confronted with is the lack of coeval written sources specifically dedicated to the construction and the organization of construction sites, and of direct information on the classification of buildings. Therefore, her study aims at deepening the knowledge of the architectural typologies and building workers mentioned in the Mycenaean texts, at filling the gap between the types of buildings known thanks to epigraphs and the archaeological remains, at outlining the socio-economic framework required for the construction of buildings for important employers and for the organization and maintenance of the employed workforce.</p>

      <abstract xml:lang="it">
        <p>Il presente volume propone uno studio degli edifici e delle maestranze edili micenee (XIV-XIII sec. a.C. ca.), caratterizzato da un taglio del tutto originale e da un approccio interdisciplinare, volto all’integrazione dei dati testuali con quelli archeologici. Il problema principale con il quale l’autrice si confronta è la mancanza di fonti scritte coeve specificatamente dedicate all’edilizia e all’organizzazione dei cantieri e di informazioni dirette sulla classificazione degli edifici. Il suo studio mira, pertanto, ad approfondire la conoscenza delle tipologie architettoniche e delle maestranze edili menzionate nei testi micenei, colmare la lacuna tra le tipologie di edifici note epigraficamente e i resti archeologici, delineare l’ossatura socio-economica presupposta per la costruzione degli edifici di alta committenza e per l’organizzazione e il mantenimento della forza lavoro impiegata.</p>
