      <abstract xml:lang="en">
        <p>Akrothinia collects the contributions of twenty-three young scholars, with the aim of creating an overall picture of the lines of investigation and of the interests which, in recent years, have animated research in the field of Prehistory and Protohistory of the Aegean area, as seen from the perspective of 'pupils', not of 'masters'. The broad horizon of archaeological and philological themes, as well as the new insights which can be noticed in the works of this volume, clearly demonstrate the liveliness and, at the same time, the value of the tradition of Aegean studies in Italy. In this sense, the common thread linking all the contributions is, on one hand, the balance between the value recognized by the authors and the long tradition of Italian studies and, on the other, the positive interest in projects used as a test for the ability to identify new prospects for investigation.</p>

      <abstract xml:lang="it">
        <p>Akrothinia raccoglie i contributi di ventitre giovani studiosi con l’obiettivo di tentare un quadro di insieme delle linee di indagine e degli interessi che nel corso degli ultimi anni hanno animato la ricerca nel campo della Preistoria e Protostoria del bacino dell’Egeo, attraverso la prospettiva degli ‘allievi’ e non dei ‘maestri’. L’orizzonte ampio delle tematiche archeologiche e filologiche e i nuovi spunti di approfondimento che si possono registrare nei lavori presentati in questo volume dimostrano con efficace chiarezza la vivacità e allo stesso tempo il valore della tradizione dell’egeistica italiana. In questo senso, il filo rosso che lega l’insieme dei contributi raccolti è rappresentato proprio dall’equilibrio fra il valore riconosciuto dagli autori alla lunga tradizione degli studi italiani, da un lato, e l’interesse positivo verso progetti in cui sperimentare la capacità di individuare nuove prospettive di indagine, dall’altro.</p>
