What does the growing interest of literary criticism towards the representation of nature and its ethical implications tell us? Sedici saggi sospesi tra analisi del ‘testo’ e teoria della critica, sollecitati e raccolti da Nicola Turi, tentano di rispondere a questi e altri interrogativi che investono la funzione e gli orientamenti della critica contemporanea, la sua capacità di restituire le forme del linguaggio artistico, e insieme la sua ricorrente tentazione di confrontarsi, come direbbe la Bradamante di Calvino, con «la vita dietro che spinge e scompiglia tutti i fogli del libro».
