<abstract xml:lang="en">

La Travagliata Architettura (1656-1660) written by the Florentine Cosimo Noferi - whose edition is given in the volume - is one of the most singular manifestations of Galileo Galilei’s scientific influence and master's work in the fields of Architecture and Urban Planning. In fact, Noferi's work not only traces a precise picture of the evolution of techniques in the seventeenth century, but, by coming from a context of profound cultural change, also sets itself as a milestone from which it is possible to restart the evolution of the constitutive features of modern architecture.
