      <abstract xml:lang="en">
        <p>SIMdisaster is a simulation software conceived to respond to the training needs of health operators managing aid in maxi-emergencies, since the reproduction of such events for didactic purposes proves to be both complex and costly. SimDisaster reconstructs the scenario of a catastrophe using photos and films manipulated using computer graphics and integrated with three-dimensional objects generated by the computer. An interactive interface makes it possible to assess the scenario and hence take decisions about the logistics of aid operations, the choice of auto-protection techniques, triage intervention and maintenance of the principal vital functions. The scenario then evolves in real time depending on the choices made by the user.</p>

        <p>SIMdisaster è un software di simulazione pensato per rispondere alle esigenze formative degli operatori sanitari che gestiscono i soccorsi nelle maxiemergenze, eventi la cui riproducibilità a scopo didattico risulta complessa e costosa.
In SimDisaster è stato ricostruito lo scenario di una catastrofe utilizzando filmati e foto manipolati in computer grafica ed integrati con oggetti tridimensionali generati al computer.
Una interfaccia interattiva permette di effettuare valutazioni all'interno dello scenario e prendere decisioni relative alla logistica dei soccorsi, alla scelta delle tecniche di autoprotezione, all'intervento di triage e di mantenimento delle principali funzioni vitali. Lo scenario evolve in tempo reale in relazione alle scelte effettuate dall'utente.
